Welcome To

Sylva is centrally located in Jackson County with a truly Americana Main Street. It’s a Norman Rockwell picturesque town where people still wave from there front porch as you drive by with about 2,500 residents who’ll welcome you to their shops, restaurants, breweries, galleries and bookstores. The town’s been featured in Hollywood blockbuster films such as The Fugitive and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Enjoy countless activities!

Enjoy a host of events, such as the weekly Concerts on the Creek every summer and the Greening up the Mountains festival each spring. Sylva also cooks up memorable meals in its local restaurants, and its coffeehouses — like the Farmhouse, White Moon and City Lights — spark spontaneous conversations. This small town also offers four breweries: Innovation, Nantahala, Lazy Hiker and Balsam Falls.

Hart Theater in Waynesville sits in the shadow of Cold Mountain showcasing the finest talent in the region in a year round schedule of plays and musicals. Right next door to the theatre is the Shelton House Museum, barn and grounds. The Museum promotes Western North Carolina history, hermitage and crafts and is also known as the Museum of North Carolina Handicrafts. Spend your days on Lake Junaluska canoeing, kayaking, hiking or fishing for that big trout to hang on the wall.
